City or Shit-hole?

Selective Deafness

I find it extraordinary that people can seal their major sense up and not think that they're doing anything wrong. The ears more than the eyes are your primary sense organ. It's the ears that hone in first to whatever's going on and then tell the eyes where to look. As far as this is concerned, to seal those ears up behind a medley of 'music' is tantamount to a sort of suicide. In the wild, to be deaf is to be dead. Yet, we have become so docile because we have been so domesticated (or is that 'dominated') by comfort, ease, and convenience, that people rarely think about it. And of course, when you criticize them for being childish (which is what human society is now) they look at you as if you have two heads. I sympathize with people who tell me there is nothing worth listening to in a city where cars have more priority than people. But there is, even if it is only your heart beating or the blood pulsing through your veins. There is always something to hear even in the most industrialized landscape. Indeed, since the industrialized landscape produces industrialized beings, you need to know where these beings are, since they may indeed be preying upon you. To seal yourself up behind music when you're out and about, music that you can listen to in the comfort of your own home, is simply stupid when it isn't downright obstinate. Beethoven would be appalled at this type of selective deafness.

Subvertizing on Bells Bridge

Jerry Mander's books should be on the curriculum of every schoolchild. As someone who has worked in the (counter) advertising industry - also known as the subvertizing industry - for many moons he knows a thing or two of the devious tactics employed by corporate monsters in order to sell you shit (that you do not need). Everyone should read Four Arguments for the Elimination of Television and should be embarrassed if they haven't. Likewise, everyone should read In the Absence of the Sacred and should be embarrassed yet again if they haven't. When you do read these books you will, irrespective of how knowledgeable you are on the subject, be gifted with insight into the wiley ways of the modern incorporated world. Mander does not mince his words. And for this alone he should be commended.

Delivery or Devilry?

In recent lockdown, deliveries, as can be expected, have gone through the roof. At no point in the 14 odd billion years of cosmic presence have we had so many things delivered to us. But what does it mean to have something delivered to us. More to the point, what's the difference between delivery and deliverance? And why does the word 'devilry' look so much like the word 'delivery'?

Then, you can start to ask: do animals get deliveries? Does the wild deliver? And if so, what does she deliver? Then, you can look at your bodymindearth system and ask how it exists in the first place. Because you are delivered into it by your delivery systems: your body, your breathingg, your cardio, etc, etc.

Man as usual has preverted and distorted the natural, and so we have Amazon (not the jungle or the river that renews) but the company that pollutes and does not renew (except on the surface). We have delivery drivers churning out fumes all in the name of convenience and not doing it ourselves. But the true delivery is delivering yourself into your Self, and this can only be done through getting rid of all other deliveries, and delivering yourself through the natural media of space, silence, and natural wild spaces, into the beautiful whole called 'cosmos'.

Fashion & Disease

All fashion and fashioning is a decoration of a corpse. The corpse being your false indetity and that which has been made up by identifying with the unnatural, the industrial, and the filthy (that which cannot renew itself). To fashion is to make and manipulate. It is the cause of all man's problems and the reason why animals are not diseased, because they do not fashion their selves into that which they are not. Then, on top of this metaphysical quandry, we have the waste that the fashion industry imposes upon the planet, because man does not know Nature anymore. Godliness is next to cleanliness, and this cleanliness means not buying into shit that does not renew you. Fashion is a false renewal insofar as it 'renews the surface' (or shell) of the creature but does not renew the interior. This is why so many are duped into it: because on the surface it does renew! But surfaces are deadly, just as surfaces depend on the renewal of the insides in order to truly grow.

Bombin' the System not Civilians

It must have been about twenty years ago that I first watched the documentary Style Wars and heard a teenage boy tell his mother about his graffiti (style writing) and 'bombing the system'. His mother wasn't too impressed, especially given the fact that her son's bedroom had been transformed into something of a kaleidoscopic workshop due to 'testing paint'. The whole scene is marvellous if only for its naturalism in spite of the camera, and for the mother's unanswered question: what has the system ever done to you?

But of course, the system is death, at least the scientisitic industreality that has taken over the planet in the past two hundred or so years, turning people into robots and slaves whose only purpose is to work not at the behest of Nature (and thus grow and evolve) but at the beck and call of the machine and man's own addled profit-oriented mind. The aboriginal human has thus de-evolved in the past few hundred years whilst his machines and pseudo-technology has 'evolved'. This de-evolution has caused man's mind to become not only slow but stupid as in stupefied by the sideshow that man has made of Nature. Retarded by his own machines and progress, man doesn't even know what his system is anymore, since the system is all he has ever known. And this is why we must bomb it.

Television is a Monster

It is. Really!

To demonstrate (from the Latin prefix de- meaning completely, plus the verb monstrare, to show,) is 'to monster completely'. Animals imitate other animals, this is the work of Nature: mimesis and the act of copying what you see. Children do it all the time as do adults but it is perhaps more noticeable in the child. At any rate, the only image is Nature and what she presents you with. Any other image is a bastardization of the soul and of essence, a violation of the spirit. It is why indiegnous tribes tell you that the photo captures part of their soul, because in re-presenting a living conviviality you necessarily decontextualize it and thus kill it. This re-presentation furthermore is pure surface, pure spectacle. And the spectacle, as anyone who has read any Debord should know, is deadly.

MFTEZ: Space Invaders

The best program on telly last year (not that I watch telly) was spitting image. Its scenes of Branson, Bezos, and Musk sitting in a tent on Mars discussing their future had me in stitches. Chance would be a fine thing however to get rid of these three bozos so easily. So, I've put a contract out on them, these 'space invaders', for which the remuneration (see below) ain't too shabby... ;)

HS2: Horse Shit (The Sequel)

HS2...?

Horse shit... the sequel... coming to a bridge near you...

Shit & Science (and Paul Feyerabend)

Shit and science share the same etymological root, believe it or not, which may explain why we're in the shit. Not because of con-science but because of a reduction of conscience, and the bludgeoning of mind. I put Paul Feyerabend up on the bridge for a reason (excuse the pun) for it is reason and science's logic (without feeling) that has caused this pandemic to arise. Science has allowed comfort to enter the fray not knowing that comfort doesn't exist in Nature unless it is borne upon the back of hardship. Even then it is not known as comfort but as restful ecstasy. At any rate, science is the problem and scientists, most of whom slave away at the behest of military and commercial interests, the mindless morons who promote pandemics through encouraging favourable conditions that exploit and violate Nature's ways. One could do a lot worse than read Feyerabend's 'Farewell to Reason' (especially the last chapter where he lets loose) and 'Against Method'. Go on the Feyer..!
